11 Injured in Crash After Teen Driver Attempts to Kill Spider
The Hutchinson News reports that a 17-year-old girl in Kansas took her hand off the steering wheel to swat away a spider that was on her lap, causing a four-vehicle crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the driver lost control of the car and went across the center line into oncoming traffic, striking a vehicle head-on. That vehicle then bounced off another car. Debris from this second collision struck an additional car.
This four-car crash injured 11 people including six children. The 17-year old driver along with the drivers and passengers in the first two cars struck were taken to the hospital. The driver and passenger in the car hit by debris were uninjured. Authorities report that everyone was wearing a seatbelt. There is no word on conditions of those injured.
