Annual Concert to raise money for Cerebral Palsy Victim

Bekka Salle is a seven year old girl suffering from cerebral palsy. She acquired the disability as a result of a premature birth, where she was born four months early and weighed less than two pounds.

It is a tough life for Bekka, she gets her nutrition through a feeding tube that connected to her stomach, she deals with uncontrollable muscle spasms, and stuggles to communicate with loved ones.

Although the family has health insurance that covers most of the medical costs, the family still struggles to provide their daughter with adequate care and supervision that someone with her condition requires.

While her family has been blessed to have insurance to cover most of their medical needs, the costs of caring for Bekka and finding ways to provide her with a normal childhood have been difficult to cover.

However, Bekka’s story caught the ears of Thomas Roberts, founding member of the Tom and Bryan Foundation for children with disabilities. The foundation decided that they wanted to help Bekka, by allocating all the proceeds of their annual “Concert for a Cause” benefit to her and her family.

The goal of the concert this year is raise enough funds to help offset the girl’s medical bills. As a part of her treatment, Bekka requires the use of a hyperbaric chamber. With the cost of the machine climbing to upwards of $20 k, they hope that support from the community event will be enough to help young Bekka.
